Louis Donell Chevalier Sr. Bishop of Governance, Shepherding Elder, Pastor, Deacon, Cell group leader, Teacher, Student of God's word, was born and raised in The Barry Farms community, a low income community in Washington DC. His youthful days were spent in and around various communities in SE Washington DC and other places in the Washington Metropolitan area where he attended District of Columbia Public and Catholic Schools.
Louis Chevalier has been married to Gail Chevalier for over 40 years. They have three daughters, one son, three grandsons, and three granddaughters.
Louis's successful Professional career is varied and includes a wide array of experience and expertise in many areas.
He spent Two (2) years with United Food & Commercial Workers Local 400 Giant food store. Louis received an honorable discharge from the U.S Army, on July 31, 1974. He also holds a Washington D.C Electrical Journeyman License, and spent forty-four (44) years in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 26 that included job sites for the C.I.A, Pentagon and all Washington D.C airports, commercial construction, and northern Virginia data centers. Additionally, he worked with Amalgamated Transit Union Local 689 Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority as a High Voltage Electrician for 19 years.
With a servant's heart, Louis expresses a deep abiding love for ministry.
He was ordained as a deacon on November 17, 2000. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Carolina University of Theology Stanley North Carolina on April 30, 2003 and in 2012 was awarded a Certificate of license to Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He served at Reconciliation Community Church, in Manassas, Virginia with a team of ministers and active street evangelists focused on food and clothes giveaways, free car washes, and other ministry services in Prince William County Virginia and the parks of S.E. Washington D.C. that also included music and fun for everyone.
Among other key projects, throughout his career and ministry, Louis was tasked with organizing a team of licensed electricians to install electric power from the utility company to the church site at 14654 Joplin Rd. Manassas, Virginia to bring electrical power to the church administrative offices and other buildings. As the committee advisor for the project he provided the full scope of knowledge in commercial construction and necessary project oversight to successfully complete the task.
Louis also led a prison ministry team assigned to the federal prison located in Lorton Virginia from 1997 until its closing in 2001. The program involved teaching the men about self-discipline with the Bible being the foundation.
Louis also served faithfully as youth director of a team of ministers from Reconciliation Community Church, assigned to the Manassas juvenile detention center located in Prince William County, Virginia. There were male and female ministers and as a result the team was able to minister to young men and young women. He also served as a team member representing the ministry at the Adult Detention Center in Prince William County, Virginia. The team taught lessons from the Bible on how to make good choices. Louis was involved in prison ministry for approximately 18 years. He was also involved in nursing home ministry blessing the elderly with Bible reading and prayer.
